Stroke Center

Members of the Cerebrovascular Disease Division are available within minutes 24 hours a day, 7 days a week to evaluate and treat patients with stroke. Working with the Department of Neurosurgery, the Division seeks to limit brain injury in the first few hours by reestablishing blood flow through blocked arteries and implementing a range of potentially neuroprotective strategies. Beyond emergency care, the Division also provides continuing care for patients - through acute hospitalization and rehabilitation. The Division has established regional standards of care for preventing stroke and conducts a stroke clinic to minimize recurrent stroke.
